Navajo Creation Story
In the beginning Jah-dokonth created the first world and six people, including himself, lived on the earth. Begochiddy created a mountain for every cardinal direction; a white mountain for the east, a blue mountain for the south, and yellow mountain for the west, and a black mountain for the north. In the center he made a red mountain. He also created ants, which run lines between each of the mountains. On the east side under the mountains he planted some bamboo, on the south side big sunflowers, on the west side reeds, and on the north side small sunflowers. He then created laws for the four worlds; one for the first, two for the second, three for the third, and four for the fourth.
After Begochiddy created the earth he created a creature called, Kay-des-tizhi, who was both man and women. The ants he created had grown very much by that time. They became the humans. Begochiddy called all the people together to decide how they will live.
